What do consultants do, anyway? Sometimes, consultants are seen as “the Bobs,” outsiders who swoop in on proverbial white horses to “save” clients from crises they didn’t even know they had. Then, they leave and everything goes back to the way it was. 

When we set out to think about the kind of consulting we wanted to do at Third Coast, we faced this question, too: What will we do as consultants? How can we authentically support our clients in creating solutions to their real problems, that will lead to truly transformational changes at their schools and organizations? 

We’ve both received consulting services before - some were great and led to true transformational change, while others made us feel like we were just another office space.

Lindsay has led curriculum development and implementation initiatives at the district level and with non-profits to bring innovative curriculum to classrooms. She’s worked with stakeholders at all levels of the curriculum process to understand the pain points and the keys to success of implementing district-wide curriculum changes. 

Matt is a school leader turned executive coach who’s spent more than a decade running schools and leading networks. He’s been a principal and a charter school superintendent, so he knows day-to-day classroom realities and the system-level levers that make schools operate successfully.

Together we offer a rare combination of experiences of the teaching, learning, and leading process from the district, school, and organizational levels. We’ve seen it all - we’ve bought, sold, trained, developed, adopted, piloted, evaluated, strategized, and sustained. And what we’ve seen has taught us that changes that last don’t just make waves, they are anchored in the community.
